What is a Candidate Pipeline?

A candidate pipeline is a way to organize job applicants as they move through your hiring process. Think of it like stages: from application received, to interview, to offer, to hired.

Step 1: Understand the Stages

MyJobBoard typically has these stages in your pipeline:

  • Applied: Candidates who have submitted applications
  • Reviewing: Applications you're currently looking at
  • Interviewing: Candidates you're interviewing
  • Offered: Candidates you've made job offers to
  • Hired: Candidates who accepted the offer
  • Rejected: Candidates who weren't selected

Step 2: View Applications

Go to the job posting and click on "Applications" or "Candidates" to see all people who applied for that position.

Step 3: Move Candidates Through Stages

As you review candidates, you can move them to different stages:

  • Click on a candidate's name to view their full application
  • Use the dropdown menu or buttons to move them to the next stage
  • For example, if you want to interview someone, move them to "Interviewing"

Step 4: Add Notes

You can add private notes to each candidate to remember important details:

  • Interview impressions
  • Skills assessment
  • Follow-up actions needed
  • Any other relevant information

Step 5: Filter and Search

Use filters to find candidates quickly:

  • Filter by stage (see only candidates in "Interviewing")
  • Search by name or keywords
  • Sort by date applied or other criteria

Step 6: Communicate with Candidates

You can send messages to candidates directly from the pipeline:

  • Send interview invitations
  • Request more information
  • Send rejection notices
  • Make job offers

Best Practices

  • Review applications regularly to keep the pipeline moving
  • Respond to candidates promptly to maintain a good candidate experience
  • Keep notes updated so your team knows the status
  • Move candidates to "Rejected" when you've decided not to move forward
